Welcome to the Doc of Rock's Friends and Students page! Below you will find pictures of both the Doc's friends, and students, along with a brief bio and testimonials from students who wished to have themselves put online. Thanks from the Doc to everyone below!
Anthony "Chinaman" Ochoco This is Doc's colleague, Anthony Ochoco. Anthony is an avid musician, filmmaker, and recording artist. Anthony currently resides in Austin, Texas, and is originally from the Wing-Chau province in northwestern China. Raised by a clan of ninjas, Anthony quickly developed his skills with martial arts weaponry, and musical instruments. Anthony is an accomplished vocalist, guitarist and percussionist and his recordings range from subtly brilliant, to amazingly innovative. A veteran to professional music, Anthony began his career in the band 'Cellophane' in 1994. Later, Anthony went on to personally form the band 'Glyphix', playing all over Texas. Anthony's stunning live performances had him singing, playing lead guitar, and playing keyboards all at the same time. After dissolving Glyphix, Anthony went on to write, record and produce his own music in his personal studio, and still does, to this day, in addition to working on his brilliant works of cinematography. Please click on any of the links below Anthony's picture to listen to his music! Anthony's desire for creation and life have brought him from the jungles of the lower Ching-Lau basin, to the mountains of Tibet in his quest for inspiration. His lust for adventure never seems to be quelled, and he has often been referred to as a real-life Indiana Jones. Please direct all fain mail to Anthony:
Songs by Anthony Ochoco:
_________________________________________________________________________________ Scott "Sack" Cross This is Scott Cross, president of all of DGS's outstate advisors and personal consultant to the Doc. Scott is the brother of Brad Gottlieb. Scott also currently lives in Austin, Texas. Known for his quick wit and suave good looks, Mr. Cross is credited with personally bestowing the title/nickname of 'The Doc of Rock' to Brad in 1987. Scott is an extremely talented vocalist and his voice can be heard on many recordings. Often described as 'haunting' and 'captivating' his vocal range is truly a thing to behold and is unparalleled throughout the music community and he is a much sought-after session vocalist. Scott re-writes the rules to suit his own tastes and has a gross distaste for authority in all of it's manifestations. Scott is a dangerous, unstable loner who lives life on the edge and courts danger at every turn.
Please click on either of the below buttons to hear a song sung by Scott Cross. Please be careful though, as most are moved to tears by his emotive phrasing and amazing prowess:
Here, Brad and Scott hang out at the Kauai Radisson in Hawaii. Scott may look amicable, but he harbors a furious rage that is staggering in it's prowess. Scott is feared by many, and rightfully so.
Here is Scott, his wife Lisa and Brad after Brad's wedding in Kauai on March 3rd, 2004. Scott, as you can see is clad in all black. This is not uncommon for Scott, as he frequently performs assassinations and espionage for communist third-world governments using his uncanny and mysterious ninjistu talents. Scott's talents hold few bounds and his supernatural abilities are the envy of many.
Here, yet again, is Scott, his wife Lisa and Brad after Scott and Lisa's wedding on September 28th, 2003. Brad had the distinct honor of writing and performing Scott and Lisa's wedding ceremony as the officiant. It went well, except Brad forgot to tell people to 'please be seated' after the processional so the entire audience stood throughout the entire ceremony. To this day, Brad claims that was done purposefully....
here, Scott and his wife Lisa: ____________________________________________________________________________ Mike "Smoking Yngwie" Eisner ERUPTING
from Nova Scotia, Canada in 2004- when The Doc encountered this prodigious young
talent he had no idea what he was in for. Although he has been "Mike is unquestionably the finest student I have ever had the privilege of teaching. I have no doubt that between his innate abilities and uncanny talent, he will far exceed my own abilities as a guitarist one day. His tone is without equal." -Brad "The Doc of Rock" Gottlieb
Inspired by his guitar virtuoso heroes, his beautiful
__________________________________________________________________________ Gabriel Rosen Gabe Rosen, the first student ever of the doc. Gabe is an extremely talented player with innate abilities. Shown here with the Doc's 'Brad Gottlieb Custom Edition' Les Paul, Gabe has been known to pull scorching riffs out of thin air that could melt iron. A computer expert, Gabe's talent was easily identifiable for when he was first given the electric bass, he had a funky, rocking bass line pounding out without any instruction at all. Gabe is also a very accomplished Tuba player. Gabe enjoys rollerblading, working out, video games and quantum physics. Gabe knows the atomic weight of chromium.
here is Gabe outside of a Minnesota Wild game with Brad Gottlieb. Gabe played for the Wild for a short time, but was ejected from the NHL due to his many attempts to smash other players in the face with his stick.
This picture finds Gabe dressed up for work. Gabe's office adheres to a strict dress-code. Each morning, Gabe spends countless hours on his hair.
_____________________________________________________________________________ Thomas Gottlieb This is Thomas Gottlieb, brother of Brad Gottlieb. Thomas is also a very talented musician, taking lessons (and still taking them) from John Moss since age seven. Tom enjoys reading, watching movies, and whipping out tunes on his Kawai grand piano. Tom's fleet fingers have been compared to 'ten small bolts of lightning' and his playing is wrought with both fevered emotion, and technical brilliance.
Here is Brad, Tom and their Father David Gottlieb at Brad's wedding on March 3rd, 2004:
___________________________________________________________________________ Scott Vonderharr Scott Vonderharr met Brad (then known as RAD- hey, it was cool then, O.K.?) back in 1982, in the First Grade and is Brad's oldest friend. They attended school together up until 8th grade. Scott graduated with his M.B.A from University of St. Thomas in 2002. Since then Scott has started many businesses including a Digital photo editing and framing studio, and multiple real-estate holdings corporations. Pictured is Scott with his beautiful wife Jill to whom he married on Sept 6th 2003. Scott, an accomplished guitarist himself is a staunch endorser of Brad's teaching methods.
